Jews For Jesus Speaker

On Sunday morning, March 22, a representative from Jews for Jesus will be coming to Family Life Church.  He will demonstrate a Passover Celebration for us, showing how the ministry of Jesus is in every part of a Jewish Passover! Teacher’s Training Convention

Sharpen your skills as a teacher, small group leader or parent on Friday and Saturday, March 27-28 in Arlington Heights, IL, at the Midwest Teaching & Discipleship Convention.  You may attend Friday, Saturday, or both days.  Family Life Church will subsidize expenses for everyone who goes, so it will only cost you $25.  Please contact the church office very quickly so your registration can be processed.

Men of Purity Weekend

Pure Life Ministries is presenting a “Men of Purity” weekend in the Waukegan area (Zion, IL), on May 1-2, 2009.  With pornography and sexual addiction piercing our culture and coming against us daily, it is critical for all men to be equipped and prepared for dealing with these issues.  Just as the Apostle Paul told Timothy to, “Fight the good fight of faith,” we too must be properly equipped to resist the enemy and flee from temptation. Youth Bowling Event

Congregational Meeting February 15

The annual Congregational Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, immediately following the morning service.  One important item of business will be to elect three council members. In addition, there will be considerable discussion about the purchase of the Sheila Daniels building we’ve been meeting in. Four candidates accepted the nomination of the council:    Nathan Jones, Georgia Mullins, David Schleicher and Ruben Valdez.  All of these have experience serving on the council. Men’s Retreat

The men of Agape Christian Fellowship are planning their 10th annual Men’s Retreat.  Our church has regularly joined them and The Sign of the Dove for this great weekend.  Pastor George needs commitments and $72 from all men who are going from our church ASAP (please give checks to Pastor George, made payable to Family Life Church.) Day of Prayer

Next Saturday is WHEN WE PRAY, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Lakeland Evangelical Free Church (440 N. Hunt Club Rd. Gurnee).  The days in which we live demand that God’s people PRAY!  You will be glad you came, even if it is for a short time.  This prayer day is timed for just prior to the inauguration of our 44th President.

There will be a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, at 6:00 p.m. on December 24.    This is a wonderful way to start your evening celebration with family and friends, for one hour – focusing on God’s coming to earth in the flesh to be our Redeemer!

Christmas Program

Mark your calendars and consider inviting a friend, Sunday, December 14, to Family Life Church’s annual Christmas Program. This year a special production is planned performed by the children and young adults. The morning will conclude with a Christmas luncheon for all! Christmas Program Rehearsals are scheduled for Saturday, December 6 and December 13, at 2:00 p.m. at SDCA.   All participants are asked to attend these practice times.   If this is a conflict, please notify Cecilia Decillo or Tyiesha Sempa.
